Amplify our
suara (voice)

Since we wrapped up our Fall 2024 concert: Tiang!, we have been hard at work building our first full concert season, which will launch in 2024-2025!

Suara’s first two concerts were multi-sensory explorations of SE Asian music, dance, food, and language from Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, and the Philippines. Our 2024-2025 season will continue this journey with two concerts exploring the diverse singing culture across Southeast Asia. In addition, we will present collaborative performances with two other Los Angeles arts organizations. To support this growth, we are recruiting a new cohort of eight professional singers and a collaborative pianist. This core group will support our mission of creating an inspiring musical experience for all our singers and audiences.

To top it all off, we are excited to share our biggest news of all:
Suara has been granted fiscal sponsorship by Fractured Atlas,
a non-profit arts service organization, which will enable us to launch

This status opens up new possibilities for us to enhance our outreach and musical endeavors, set to launch in 2024-2025. Currently, we are looking to secure $35,000 to support this thrilling new phase!

Our 2024-2025 season will feature:

  1. A Fall 2024 concert at NoHo First

  2. A Fall 2024 music and spoken word performance in collaboration with Dear Asian Youth - University of Southern California Chapter, a nonprofit providing education and activism for marginalized Asian communities in LA

  3. A Spring 2025 concert at the Ebell of Los Angeles, an organization dedicated to advocating for women's rights through education and philanthropy

  4. A Spring 2025 collaborative semi-outdoor concert with the Heart of Los Angeles Eisner Intergenerational Choir (HOLA EIC) at Heart of Los Angeles, a nonprofit that provides after-school arts programs to children in central LA

  5. Guest instrumentalists specializing in SE Asian traditional instruments

  6. A world premiere of a new Southeast Asian choral arrangement

  7. A new cohort of 4 professional core singers

  8. A collaborative pianist for rehearsals and concerts
